报告人简介:

  李保文教授是新加坡国立大学终身教授。中组部“千人计划”国家特聘专家。同济大学声子学与热能科学中心主任。他是世界著名的微纳米尺度热传导专家和非线性物理学家。他因发明热二极管、热三极管、热逻辑门、热存储器和声子计算机的理论而闻名。他是2005年度新加坡国家科学奖获得者和2005  海外华人物理学会亚洲成就奖获得者。在过去五年里,李教授受国际物理学界和工程学界广泛邀请作全体大会报告、特邀报告,和邀请报告多达150多次。

  李保文教授在Review Modern Physics, Nature-Material,  Phys. Rev. Lett, Nano  Letter, Nano Today等世界顶尖杂志上发表了224篇论文,其中包括27篇PRL。论文被引用4,700多次。H-因子为38。

报告内容简介:

Approximately 90% of the world’s power is generated by heat engines that use  fossil fuel combustion as heat source and typically operate at 30–40%  efficiency. This means that roughly 15 terawatts of heat is lost to the  environment. Moreover, only 1/3 of energy from petrol combustion of auto engine  is used to drive vehicle. How to harvest and manipulate heat is not only a  technical problem but also a social, economic and political problem.
In this talk I will present several ways of harvesting heat energy  through phononic thermal devices such as thermal diode, thermal transistor etc  [1], and devices from thermal metamaterials such as thermal cloak, thermal  collector and so on.
